Google rolled out the stable Android 15 update late last year. The company is said to release Android 16 earlier than previous iterations and smartphone brands could roll out the update with their modifications faster. Thus far Android 16 has been released for developers and beta users. The new update brings many changes and bug fixes. We will get into what these new Android 16 features are but first, let’s check out the Android 16 release dates for eligible devices.
Android 16 release date
Android 16 Developer Preview 1 was released on November 18th 2024.
Then a few months later, on January 23rd, 2025, the Android 16 Public Beta 1 came out.
Android 16 should reach Platform Stability in March 2025 and the stable release should be out after April.
•Google released the first Android 16 public beta to select Pixel devices on January 23rd, 2025. The stable release may come sometime after April.•Xiaomi released the Android 15 beta in October 2024, which was about six months after Pixel’s first Android 15 beta release date (April 2024). So Xiaomi phones could get the first Android 16 public beta in July 2025.
•Realme started seeding its phones with Android 15 beta in November 2024, which is seven months after the Pixel getting Android 15 public beta 1. So, Realme phones could get Android 16 public beta 1 in August 2025.
•Samsung phones could also start to get Android 16 public beta 1 in August 2025.
Vivo phones could start to get Android 16 public beta 1 in February 2025.
•iQOO phones could start to get Android 16 open beta 1 in June 2025.
•OnePlus phones could start to get Android 16 public beta 1 in July 2025.
