Meta to Launch Standalone AI App in 2025 to Compete with ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, is preparing to release its own AI app that aims to rival existing platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot.

Key Highlights:

Standalone AI App: Meta plans to introduce a Meta AI app in the second quarter of 2025. This app will offer users a direct, dedicated way to interact with Meta's AI, separate from its current apps.

Generative AI Capabilities: The Meta AI app will include generative AI features, similar to those found in other AI tools like ChatGPT. These capabilities will allow for more advanced conversations and personalized assistance.

Integration with Meta’s Ecosystem: While Meta AI is already embedded in platforms like Facebook and Instagram (especially in search functions), this new app will give users more in-depth interactions with the AI.

Free with Subscription Options: The app will be free to use, but Meta is also considering a paid subscription that will offer access to more advanced AI features and capabilities.

Meta’s AI Ambitions: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated that his goal is for Meta to become a leader in AI by the end of 2025, making this app a crucial part of their strategy.

Future Developments:

Competing with Other AI Apps: Meta AI will be directly competing with established AI products like ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot.

Potential for Other New Apps: In addition to the AI app, Meta is also rumored to be working on a Reels app, which would separate Instagram’s popular Reels feature into its own standalone app.

Meta's new AI initiative is part of a broader effort to expand its footprint in the AI space, offering users a more engaging and useful way to interact with artificial intelligence, both within its apps and through this standalone product. Stay tuned for more updates as the Meta AI app gets closer to

its launch.
